Ostara It is a time to celebrate the fertility of the land and to sow the seeds of both what we wish to grow and what we wish to happen in our lives. Eggs are a symbol of this time representing the womb of the Goddess / Mother Earth. Some say this is where Easter eggs and the Easter bunny come from, but I've never managed to make the connection between eggs and rabbits! Ostara is also the traditional time to buy a new broom for sweeping out your magick circle. The name Ostara comes from the european Goddess of the Spring known as Ostera or Esther. Related Christian day - Easter (Date varies - first sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox). |
